Advocacy
What happens in Washington, D.C. affects what happens in your funeral home.
Federal legislators and regulators make decisions about your business, your ability to serve grieving families and the future of the profession — often without fully understanding the impact. NFDA has a full-time federal lobbyist in Washington, D.C., and the relationships with Congress, the FTC, the EPA and other agencies to make your voice heard. But the most powerful voice of all? Yours.
NFDA at Work in Washington, D.C.
From the FTC Funeral Rule to Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits for veterans’ and their families to formaldehyde regulation, NFDA is at the table on the issues that matter most. When Congress needs to understand how legislation would affect funeral service, they call NFDA. When families of veterans need help navigating burial benefits, our relationships at the VA can help resolve issues quickly. This work is ongoing, bipartisan and focused entirely on protecting your ability to serve families well.
