What does a funeral professional actually do?
Funeral service is more varied than most people expect. A funeral professional might meet with a family to plan a meaningful service, prepare remains, direct ceremonies, file legal documents and connect families with grief support — all in the same week. It’s a career that requires science, communication, business knowledge and genuine compassion, often all at once.
