Funeral Service Foundation

Investing in the future of funeral service.

The Funeral Service Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) organization that supports funeral service through scholarships, research, community resources and grants. It operates separately from NFDA but shares a common purpose: ensuring that funeral service remains a strong, valued profession that serves families and communities well.
What the Foundation Does Scholarships, resources and research that serve the whole profession.

The Foundation awards academic scholarships to students entering funeral service and professional development scholarships to working funeral professionals. It funds and publishes resources for practitioners on topics including grief support, serving families with children and self-care for funeral service workers. It also supports programs like Journey to Serve, which connects military veterans with careers in funeral service, and administers grants through a Crisis Response Fund available to state associations and other organizations serving the profession.
How to Get Involved Support the Foundation. Strengthen the profession.

Individual funeral professionals, funeral homes and suppliers can support the Foundation through donations, the Impact 1000 giving program and participation in fundraising events including the annual Golf Classic. The Foundation also accepts cremation recycling proceeds through its Cremation Recycling Reimagined program.
