The Heritage Club
The Call to Give Back
As a funeral director, you are part of a meaningful profession. You have been called to care for families in your community during their most difficult times and, in turn, have likely been deeply impacted by the significant path you have chosen.
For many funeral directors, there comes a time when they decide to give back to a profession that has served them well – to find a way to preserve it for future generations. This decision is deeply personal and takes on many forms. Some share their expertise through mentorship programs; others volunteer their time to their state – or even national – association.
Not all funeral directors are able to make the time commitment that comes with volunteering, but are still seeking a way to get involved. If this sounds like you, membership in The Heritage Club might be right for you.
What is the Heritage Club?
Devoted entirely to the betterment of the profession, The Heritage Club is a charitable organization dedicated to honoring the past and shaping the future of funeral service. Its sole purpose is to ensure that there will always be funds available for educational endeavors that benefit the future of the profession.
All of the club’s annual earnings and charitable gifts are allocated to funding. Donations and grants over the years have supported a variety of efforts, from the National Museum of Funeral History and Arlington National Cemetery to educational opportunities like ABFSE and the inaugural NFDA Embalming & Restorative Arts Seminar.
Its independence, governing structure and educational mission allow up to 5 percent of the club’s principal and all of its annual earnings to be applied toward funding. Those assets, combined with the charitable gifts from our members, allow the club to generously fund efforts that may otherwise not come to be.
The Meaning in Membership
Members of The Heritage Club share a common bond – they owe their livelihood, success and position in the community to a profession they love. Many members have even made membership a family tradition, ensuring that future generations understand the value of giving back to the profession.
Your charitable gift of $1,500 secures your lifetime membership in this benevolent club. Upon joining, you will receive a Heritage Club pin and membership certificate to honor your generous commitment to funeral service. Members are also invited to gather at an annual Heritage Club reception that takes place during the NFDA International Convention & Expo.
An ongoing, annual gift commitment of $1,500 will grant you additional prestige and recognition within the club and, most
importantly, ensure your legacy within the profession.
